The Free Lance design house got its start in 1980 by Buy and Yvon Rautureau, two French brothers who came from a long family line of cobblers. It seemed only natural to the pair that they follow their family's rich tradition of shoemaking and they made their goal in life to offer the world something truly different in footwear.
The brothers create their shoes outside of Paris, which they find advantageous, because they are not feeling forced to follow the design trends of other Parisian designers.
